Instructions for Authors
Korean Society for Computational Fluids Engineering
The Journal of Computational Fluids Engineering is the official publication of the Korean Society for Computational Fluids Engineering. The general guidelines for preparing manuscript are given as follows;
1. Aim and Scope
The Journal of Computational Fluids Engineering is to provide an international forum for the publication and dissemination of original works that contribute to the understanding of the following fields for computational fluid engineering: mechanical, aerospace, shipbuilding, marine, environmental etc. For this purpose, this journal accepts original papers of research articles on computational fluids engineering.
2. Qualification as Authors
The first author and corresponding author should be a member of the Korean Society for Computational Fluids Engineering. If they are not members, they should apply to membership before submission. However, there is an exception if editorial board admits. Please contact the society office to become a member.
3. Research and Publication Ethics
Authorship : An author is generally considered to be someone who has made actual and intellectual contributions to a published study. All authors must take public responsibility for the contents of their manuscript.
Plagiarism : The Journal of Computational Fluids Engineering does not allow any form of plagiarism. Plagiarism is considered to be a serious breach of scientific ethics.
Duplicate publication : Any manuscript submitted to the Journal of Computational Fluids Engineering must be original. The manuscript must not have already been formally published nor submitted for publication to any other journal.
All manuscript must satisfy the ethics charter and ethical code.
4. Submission of a Manuscript
Before submitting the manuscript, authors should prepare the manuscripts with provided checklist for an original article. With the marked checklist, the manuscript can be submitted through the KSCFE editorial manager at http://www.kscfe.apub.co.kr/. After the review process of manuscript, the copyright transfer agreement signed by all co-authors should be send with the final manuscript. The forms of checklist and copyright transfer agreement can be downloaded from the KSCFE webpage.
5. Peer Review
The received manuscript is circulated to two peer reviewers appointed from the editorial board. After the peer review process, the manuscript will receive one of the following decisions: accept as is, accept after minor revision, rereview after major revision, or reject. Based on reviewers’ comments, authors should response with a revised version of manuscript. For the publication of submitted manuscript, it typically takes about three months. The details of peer review process can be found from the KSCFE webpage.
6. Specific Guidelines for Writing Manuscript
Authors can write the manuscript with the template downloaded from the KSCFE webpage. The submitted manuscript must comply with the format of the template. The specific guidelines for writing manuscript are given as follows;
Contents : The manuscript should be organized in the following order: Title(Korean and English), Names of authors(Korean and English), Abstract(English), Kew Word, Introduction(object and motivation of paper), Main text of paper(theorem, method, result, discussion, etc.), Conclusion, Acknowledgement, References, Appendices, etc.
Equations : All mathematical equations should be clearly printed/typed using well accepted explanation. Superscripts and subscripts should be typed clearly above or below the base line. Equation numbers should be given in Arabic numerals enclosed in parentheses on the right-hand margin. They should be cited in the text as, for example, Eq. (1), or Eq. (1)-(3).
Tables : Tables should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. All tables should be fully titled and referred to in the text.
Figures : All the illustrations should be satisfied with the publishing requirement with legible symbols and legends. In preparing the illustrations, authors should consider a size reduction during the printing process to have acceptable line clarity and character sizes. All figures should have captions and be referred to in the text as, for example, Fig. 1, or Fig. 1-3.
Reference : All references should be listed at the end of the manuscripts, arranged in order. They should be written in English. The exemplary form of listed references is as follows:
[1] 1991, Kim, J. and Lee, K.D., "Structure of ··· ," AIAA J., Vol.29-11, p.221.
[2] 2011, Jun, H.Y. and Kim, J.H., "Thermal Model ··· ," (in Korean) J. Comput. Fluids Eng., Vol.16, No.3, pp.59-65.\
In the text, the reference should be numbered in bracket in ascending order, e.g. [1], [2], etc. Single or two authors can be referred in the text; three or more authors should be shortened to the last name of the first author.
7. Publishing Interval
The Journal of Computational Fluids Engineering is published quarterly, especially at March 31th, June 30th, September 30th, December 31th in every year.
8. Publication Fee
If the manuscript is accepted for publication, fee for the publication and peer review should be paid by the corresponding author before printing. The base fee for the manuscript with 6 pages is 230,000 Won. If the manuscript exceeds 6 pages, the additional fee of 35,000 Won/page for additional pages will be charged. For the manuscript with color illustrations, color printing is strongly recommended, and in this case, an additional fee of 100,000 Won will be charged.
9. Contact Information
If authors have problems and questions, please contact the secretary of KSCFE with the following information;
